How much is enough money? How many toys do we need? If money can't buy happiness then why do we need money? All I want in life is to be happy so if money can't buy it, what good is it? It is said that money is the root of all evil? So if money can'tbuy happiness & is the root of all evil but we need it to pay bills & be considered successful in life, I am confused?
When was the last time you saw the news & the reporter or article was talking about a homeless person with no money being successful in life & happy? It won't ever happen because it isn't true. Money might not buy happiness but it sure can buy alot of things that take my mind off not being happy.
I do however think a little goes along way & if we aren't suffering from "little guy" syndrome, where we over compensate for insecurity by having big toys, lots of bling & showing off what we have, we can be happy by working hard, paying bills on time, putting some money away for security & enjoying every day by having fun. We don't need more, we need to be happy with who we are & what we have. If we are caught up in what everyone else has, we can never be happy.

- Grew up in the Northern california mountains at a time when people were happier & life was much more simple. I enjoy being outdoors & any type of competition but am not quite sure why I am so competitive since I was always known as shy when I was growing up & was afraid of all adults & most things about life. I coached a womens softball team & met my wife Mona in 1980. I have 3 daughters & a son who I am very proud of. I have 4 grandchildren & 3 son-in-laws which I am also very proud of. Whats so interesting to me since I've lived in Utah for almost 2 years is that Utah is the state with the highest amount of debt and bankruptcy. What?!!? meanwhile...the majority of utah residents have boats, atv's, horses, snow mobiles, cabins, etc. I'm not sure what's going here. But, in the meantime, I will enjoy friends cabins, atv's, snow mobiles, and toys! is that bad?
My point exactly my observant freind. People want so badly to fit in or have what everyone else has, they do exactly that. they go into debt which is what everyone else is doing & Utah is no exception. You would think with all those values most of them have been taught in sunday school, they wouldn't make the same stupid mistakes as everyone else out in heathen land but they can't help themselves & end up just like everyone else. The only difference is, they have a guilty concience after they have lost everything to stupidity. I agree with you, use all the stupid peoples toys & cabins & stay out of debt. We should get shirts made & spread the word to our friends & family. "STAY OUT OF DEBT--BORROW FROM YOUR FRIENDS"
